What is ILMEA? An acronym that stands for Illinois Music Education Association, ILMEA is an organization of Illinois music teachers. There are many different ways students of all ages can participate in ILMEA throughout the school year.
Choir/Band/Orchestra - In the fall, students can audition for one of the regional ensembles, and they have the option of auditioning for an all-state ensemble as well. Illini Bluffs is in District 2 for ILMEA. Click here for more info.

Composition - Students create original music and can submit them for a composition contest. Types include: songwriting, remixing, arranging, writing choir/band/orchestra/solo music, pop music. Grades 10-12. Click here for more info.

Future Music Educators - Students who are interested in pursuing a career as a music teacher can apply to attend special classes about how to teach music, what subjects to study, and how to apply for jobs in music education. Click here for more info.
